Family Engagement
The DPS Foundation meets DPS families where they are to build community, amplify their voices and support them as they advocate for their children's wellbeing.
Our Programs
Sembrando Raices
Led by our Latinx parents, this project has 30+ families actively participating in information and resource sharing and advocacy for our public schools.
“It’s a space where we can all contribute. It benefits us and our families. We come to learn, to receive information that helps us; that unites us. We have found our communality, which is the education and the welfare of our children." —
ROSSANA SALCEDO: Sembrando Raices Parent Leader
Homework with Amigos
This initiative provides a safe space for students and their families to build community and find ways to advocate for their education.
Burton Elementary Garden
This parent-led project creates a space that is centered around the wellbeing of the community, amplifies Black and Brown voices, builds community amongst parents, and ensures children can feel safe and have fun.
Supportive Resources
We recognize the challenges our immigrant and other families are facing right now and will continue to show our support. Here are some resources and statements we’ve released. We will update this section as new information comes in.
